Daily Buddhist Practice, Reflection & Meditation | Clarity
The daily round, reflection, meditation and reading in the iPhone app.
The daily round
Home opens with a daily photo and message. Begin opens Reflect, followed by View and Practice. Each step has its own content and completion record.
View and Practice advance after completion, with the next step available the following day. The separate meditation timer can be used outside this round.
Reflect
Reflect records a voice or text entry. A daily question is available in the round; other entries can be captured separately.
Generated reflection uses Apple Intelligence on supported iPhones. Capturing an entry and generating a response are separate actions. The private capsule holds an editable summary of earlier reflections for context. Reflection and voice data.
View and Practice
View contains a short teaching and a reflection question. Practice contains the day's practice. Done records completion and continues the round.
Progress records completed steps and practice time. It does not assess understanding or spiritual attainment.
Meditation
Meditation Zone has its own duration, singing bowl, progress ring and bell settings. Completed sessions can be recorded as mindful minutes in Apple Health when that permission is enabled.
The website has a separate one-minute timer.
Texts and sources
The reader includes the Heart Sutra and other practice texts, with Tibetan, transliteration and English where supplied by the edition. The Diamond-Cutter is an opening working edition, not the complete sutra.
Clarity's original notes and commentary are separate from sourced teachings and translations. The web library links to named sources, translators and publishers.
Grasping and conditions
A thought can seem settled while depending on a particular moment, interpretation or habit. What happened and what continues in thought may differ. This relation to conditions runs through Clarity's reflection and reading.
Loosening grasping in daily life includes an ordinary conversation example and a linked Buddhist source.
Music and offline use
Original music, Dharma songs, mantra and meditative sounds play in the app and through CarPlay. The included audio and texts remain available without a constant internet connection.
New public content and external source links require the internet. On-device generated reflection depends on Apple Intelligence availability.
Calendar and Buddhist World
The calendar includes Buddhist observance days and moon days. Dates vary by tradition, region and community. Event details and organisers' calendars remain the reference for arrangements.
Buddhist World maps temples, monasteries, pilgrimage places and Dharma centres. About observance calendars.
Clarity in ChatGPT
The ChatGPT workspace uses published Clarity content for reading and daily practice. A selected page can be discussed in the conversation. Private iPhone records are separate. Access and workspace details.
Questions
Do I need prior Buddhist knowledge?
No. The app includes short teachings and practice texts from several Buddhist traditions. Sources and edition details are identified where available.
What does generated reflection require?
Generated reflection requires iOS 26 or later, an Apple Intelligence-compatible iPhone, Apple Intelligence enabled, a downloaded model and a supported language. Voice and text capture remain available without it.
What works offline?
Saved entries, the included texts and audio, the meditation timer and locally available daily content can be used offline. New public content and source links need an internet connection. Generated reflection uses Apple Intelligence on supported iPhones.
Is iPhone progress connected to ChatGPT?
No. ChatGPT uses public Clarity content and information explicitly supplied in the conversation. Private iPhone entries, recordings and progress are not connected.
Does Clarity replace a Buddhist teacher?
No. Clarity supports reflection, study and practice. It does not provide transmission or empowerment, assess spiritual attainment, or replace a qualified teacher or sangha.
